Its hard to understand Lei: sometimes hes caring and thoughtful; sometimes hes cool and aloof. He would be a loner if it werent for F4. He is very observant and notices even the smallest details. He is also a homebody and likes to sleep. His favorite place is the rooftop of their school. Shan Chai was secretly in love with him but he only had eyes for Ten Tang Jing. Later he becomes Shan Chais closest friend.

Lei went to Paris to seek his love and got dumped instead. He then concentrated on his familys business problems, often flying to Japan and Taiwan. After graduation, he manages the family business in competition with Dao Ming Corporation. When Dao and Shan Chai break up, he expresses interest in Shan Chai, thus severing his friendship with Dao and getting kicked out of F4. When Dao loses his memory and becomes missing, Lei is frequently at Shan Chais side to comfort and support her. Now completely over Tang Jing, he falls in love with Shan Chai. Lei is an introvert and a very quiet person, he loves Shan Chai but cannot express it, so he keeps his emotions to himself and quietly stands by her instead.
